Questions
The price includes the hire of the skip, delivery and collection, and the management of waste placed in the skip, that is taken to licensed commercial recycling facilities and disposed of in an environmentally responsible way.
The skip is intended for mixed general waste, which includes general household waste, mixed domestic or commercial waste including cardboard, plastic, paper, plaster, wood and glass, non-hazardous bulky waste and mixed heavy and building waste, such as brick, concrete and hardcore.
Asbestos, biological or medical waste, batteries, electrical appliances (WEEE), fluorescent tubes, fridges, freezers or aircon units, TVs or computer screens, gas bottles or Fire extinguishers, oil, petrol or diesel, mattresses, paint or paint cans (unless empty), plasterboard (unless bagged & clearly marked), solvents or toxic waste, tyres or upholstered domestic seating (POPs).
The small 4-yard skip has the capacity to hold 25-35 bin bags. The waste should level with the top of the skip. Filling the skip above the level may risk it not being transported safely, which will result in excess charges.
The skip must be placed off-road, which means that it must be located on private property (eg. driveway, garden or private car park) and not on public highway. If you're looking for on-road hire, please speak to our Live Chat team.
Maximum hire period is 14 days. If you wish your skip to be collected earlier, please call 0345 608 8811 to schedule the skip to be returned early, but please be aware that the 14-day hire charge will still apply. If you wish to keep the skip longer than 14 days, please speak to our Live Chat team.
We recommend monitoring the skip closely, as others may add their rubbish to it. Unfortunately, you will be responsible for any waste found in your skip, even if it’s not yours. If any prohibited items are discovered during the emptying of your skip, you are likely to be charged extra and the restricted items will be returned to you.
