For professional mechanics who works in a garage, those who work more flexibly & have a mobile mechanic business or anyone who enjoy fixing cars as a hobby, you’re going to need some top-quality tools to work on different vehicles and bikes. Here at HSS we have put together a list of must-have mechanic tools so you can make sure you have all the tools you need to get through your jobs efficiently.
Torque Wrench
These tools are an important part of a mechanic’s tool kit. Used to tighten nuts and bolts, a torque wrench is used for changing tyres, different components in the engine & for the car’s suspension and brake system. At HSS, we have torque wrenches to buy that have been made by well-known brands such as Bahco, Dewalt, Irwin, Stanley, Teng & more.
Jacks
Jacks are an essential tool for anyone who works on cars. They lift up and supports the weight of the vehicle so mechanics can get under certain parts & repair the tyres or replace the brake pads. We have a selection of Jacks that you can look at from brands such as Bahco & Faithfull. Each Jack can hold different weights from 2-12 tonnes.
Socket Sets
As cars have a lot of nuts and bolts to hold it together, a socket set will be extremely handy to have as you’ll be able to fasten or loosen different types & sizes of fasteners with ease. We have a wide selection of socket sets that vary in sizes & quantity. Each set has different pieces including sockets, drivers & other accessories, all available to buy in their own carry case.
Torx Bits
These tools can be used with sockets & ratchets just like you would use an Allen key. Sometimes, a normal screwdriver won’t be able to get to the torx bolts or screws like torx bits can so having a collection of torx bits in your mechanical tool box will help with loosening and tightening things. Take a look at our torx bits, available to buy, that come in different sizes & lengths.
Axel Stands
Used with a hydraulic jack, axle stands prop up and support the weight of vehicles so they can be checked over and repaired where needed. You can use axel stands to help you repair a tyre, change an oil filter or fix an exhaust pipe. We have axel stands to buy at HSS.
Mechanic’s Tool Set
This kit is perfect to have if you’re a mechanic as it contains tools and accessories needed to repair bikes and cars. Each set varies depending on much they cost but you’ll typically find ratchets, combination wrenches, sockets, pliers and more. If you didn’t want to buy each tool individually, this set will be a good choice for you.
Tool Belts, Holders & Pouches
When working on a vehicle or bike, keeping your tools close to hand will be helpful when you need to switch from a wrench to pliers. Having a tool belt, holder or pouch means you can keep your tools on your person, making them more accessible. We have plenty of belts, holders and pouches online at HSS which are available to buy.
Tool Boxes & Storage
Once you have all your tools for the garage, you're going to need to store them somewhere safe to keep them from getting damaged or stolen as well as keeping your area tidy. Our selection of tools boxes and storage ranges from bags, boxes, cabinets, cases, organisers, storage bins, totes, trolleys & more.
There are plenty of other mechanical tools and accessories you can add to your collection that’ll help you with your vehicle repair jobs. Each individual tool, tool set or storage item have been designed and created by popular brands from Bahco, Dewalt, Expert, Facom, Faithfull, Lessman, Teng & others.
